Mount Kailash Trip via Simikot

This extraordinary journey takes you to Tibet's mythical Mt. Kailash & Lake Manasarovar through the hidden Humla valley of Nepal's westernmost Tibetan frontier. Once we reach Mt. Kailash we will make the 'Kora' (holy-circuit) trek of the mountain, sharing the trail with many other pilgrims who head for Kailash during the summer months. On this Kailash Mansarovar pilgrimage tours and treks, we pass onto the lush vegetation of conifer, rhododendron and oak trees via the semi deserted windswept landscape to the highest plateau in the world. We can see the numbers of isolated villages, nomads' tents with flocks of sheep, domesticated mountain goats and yaks grazing at the vast field. Lake Mansarovar, an expanse of sparkling blue water sprawling over several miles, believed to be the seat of Brahma (the Creator of Universe) and the snow capped Mount Kailash is considered as the abode of Lord Shiva and his consort Parvati. The entire Kailash circuit trek is the holiest of all the Hindu's and Buddhist pilgrimage.

Time to Visit

The best time for visiting Kailash Mansarovar is between the middle of May to the middle of October. The weather is generally stable and visibility is at its best during this time. Temperatures are cool during the day and below freezing at night.
