This is one of the greatest classic treks taking trekkers through a huge variety of landscapes from lush green paddy fields, sub-tropical rainforest, deep valleys, and wooded alpine slopes to an arid semi-desert similar to Tibet and the deepest gorge in the world. The climax of the trek is the Thorong La Pass (5416 m). The route starts from Beshishahar and ascends to Thorong La following the River Marshyangdi. Descending to the west we enter the barren valley of the Kali Gandaki.
