Everest or upper Khumbu region is the second most popular trekking area in Nepal.The region has lured thousand of adventure seekers to explore and experience high mountain valleys, high passes, Buddhist cultures and stunning Sherpa villages and incredible views of the lofty snowy mountain peaks of Mt. Everest (8848 m), Mt. Cho Oyu (8153m), Mt. Makalu (8470 m) Mt. Ama Dablam (6856 m) and many others. It is protected by the Sagarmatha National Park with an area of 1148 square kilometers.
The Annapurna region lies toward the north of Central Nepal . The region is well known for the most dramatic natural scenery, deep valleys, gorge, high mountain passes, sub-tropical to alpine vegetation, Buddhist monasteries, Muktinath Temple , ancient villages,ethnic people, their culture and their lifestyle. The region consists of Annapurna peaks, Mt. Dhaulagiri , Mt.Annapurnas I, II, III & IV, Kali Gandaki River and several climbing peaks.
North of Kathmandu, this is the third most popular trekking region in Nepal. Though easily accessible from Kathmandu, it remains relatively unspoiled and less developed. Several great days of pleasant walk through dense forest and traditional ethnic settlements takes you to the holy Gosainkunda Lake and alpine yak pasture of Kyangin Gompa.
