Nepali Tour Guide

We visited Nepal when we left university in 2000 (Sept 2010 was the earliest date I could select to write this review) and were lucky enough to find Thakur at Himalaya Heart Day Tours shortly after arrival in Kathmandu. We trekked the Annapurna range from Jomson to Pokhara. Not the most strenuous of Nepali treks, but challenging for us, and it was embarrasing how much fitter than us Thakur was! Thakur is a very intelligent and knowledgeable guide, and I can't recommend him and his company highly enough, they really do take care of you as a valued customer. He has stayed in touch with me since 2000, and I commend him also as a businessman.

You wouldve thought you were back at home

Himalaya Heart Day Tours will totally make you feel back at home!!! I had the honour to have Shital accompany my friends and I throughout our 20 days of volunteer and recreation trip in Nepal. Shital was really warm and hospitable, and this is exactly what we need when we were in a foreign country, when we were unable to communicate with the locals. One memorable incident was during a strike, where shop houses were all closed and there wasn't a single soul on the streets. But Shital stayed very calm and composed, and was able to comprehend the whole situation in a way that ensured our safety while we were on the road. This really made us feel at ease. Shital and his family also provided us with an enormous amount of hospitality and warmth while we were doing volunteer work in the village that he lives in, and we were really very thankful for that! Thank you for the delicious meals, Kumar's chocolate cake, and not getting angry even when we were hungry late at night and you guys had to cook instant noodles for us! The service and safe environment that Himalaya Heart Day Tours provides is really like no others, and you would really feel at home with their excellent service

Efficient, courteous, good value, very nice people

We used Himalayan Heart to book a 3 day trek around the mountains in Pokara. The tour operator, Shital, arranged return flights from Kathmandu, hotels in Pokara, all accommodation and food; he also introduced us to our trekking guide, Hari. I cannot fault one aspect of the trek. All of the logistical challenges were met without a single glitch. Our guide, Hari, was absolutely charming and went out of his way to accommodate us at every turn.

All in all, having the little details arranged for us saved a potentially large headache, enabling us to really enjoy the relatively short time that we had to trek. I am struggling to think how we could have made the trip without Shital's help.

My trustworthy friend in Nepal

I spent 1 month in Nepal under the hospitality of Himalaya Heart tours. It was a truly enjoyable time where everything was carefully planned and scheduled (except the riots and strikes :P ). All aspects of the experience was well taken care of by Shital and his friendly crew. I only have praises for their service attitude and how they made you feel at home, even in the hustle and bustle of Thamel. Would strongly recommend Himalaya Heart to anyone who is experiencing amazing Nepal for the first time.

Reference for Thakur Timalsina

In September 2000 together with a group of three friends from Melbourne, Australia, I engaged Thakur Timalsima as a trekking guide for a circular trek around the Khumbu (Everest) region over a planned 14 day period, allowing for weather delays.

The first time, I met Thakur was in 2001. My wife and I had come to Nepal two years before, to have a six days trek in the southern Annapurna range. While we enjoyed all the walking, we decided to start a longer trek next time, merely around the whole Annapurna circuit.

Glen Rojas Riverside CA,

All my adult life I dreamed of going to Mount Everest and attempting to climb one of the most challenging mountains in the World. I was never able to fulfill that dream until I turned 52.
