The Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) trek is one of the most popular treks and, depending on fitness, can be done in 10-14 days.  Taking longer will give you more opportunity to enjoy the hike and acclimatise to the altitude.  ABC lies at 4130m.

The scenery is spectacular and diverse.  The trek starts at Nayapul, a few hours drive from Pokhara,  and the passes through terraced farms via Machapuchere base camp to the base camp of Annapurna South.  At ABC you are surrounded by an impressive backdrop of over 10 peaks above 6000m, including Mahapuchare, Annapurna South and Hiumchuli and it worth spending time here to take in the magnificent views.

In a period of less than 2 weeks you can observe the lifestyle and culture of the friendly local people as you pass through their villages, an array of flora and fauna and some of the best mountain vistas in the Himalayas.
