The adventure starts in the beautiful city of Pokhara. From there, you’ll travel on winding roads to Beni, where the off-road journey begins. Driving through dusty roads, barren gorges, magnificent cliffs, and various passes, you’ll journey through the Kaligandaki Gorge with the majestic Dhaulagiri and Annapurna Massifs in the background. The tour ultimately takes you to Lo Manthang, giving you ample time to explore the diverse culture and landscape of Upper Mustang. The return journey follows the same route.
Your day starts with breakfast, such as eggs, toast, or porridge. After breakfast, you'll hop in the jeep and head to your next destination. The guide will stop at viewpoints for photos and enjoying the view. You can also request stops whenever you like.
There are plenty of coffee breaks, and if you're in a group, you can make your own freshly brewed coffee while enjoying the mountains or riverside. Lunch is usually at different locations, but breakfast and dinner are at the place where you’re staying.
If you pass a monastery, you’ll have the chance to go inside and explore. Short hikes are also possible, with your belongings safely carried in the jeep. You can enjoy nature and its views while hiking.
In the evening, once you arrive at your guesthouse, you have time for leisure activities like board games, cards, snacks, taking photos, and social media. You can interact with locals and enjoy dinner, perhaps trying some homemade alcoholic beverages made from local fruits. After dinner, it's time to rest for the next day’s adventure.
Foreign travelers have been allowed in the region since 1992, but tourism is regulated. You'll need a special permit to enter. Mustang is a restricted trekking area, but now it's popular for trekkers. To get a permit, you need at least two members in a group. If you're traveling alone, we can join you with another group. We need a copy of your passport to obtain the permit.
Trekking permits for Mustang cost $500 per person for 10 days. Extra days cost $50 each. Note that the 10 days start and end at Kagbeni.
Most people leave Lo Manthang during winter to avoid the cold and snow. The best time to visit is from late March until early November. While the tour doesn't go to extremely high elevations, the cold, dust, and afternoon winds can be challenging.
In the city: You’ll find a variety of food options, from local to continental and Asian cuisines. The taste might differ from what you're used to, but there are many choices.
In the mountains: Food options are limited to local dishes like momo, dal bhat, parathas, and fried rice. These are made with locally sourced ingredients and prepared by local people, often quite enjoyable.
In cities, we provide bed and breakfast plans, and during the tour, we offer full board plans that include accommodation and food. Rooms usually have attached baths, depending on group size, budget, and availability. For families, we provide family-friendly rooms. In cities, we use three to four-star hotels, while in rural areas, we provide the best available accommodations. You can choose your accommodation, but prices may vary.

You will arrive to Kathmandu today. Himalaya Heart representative will welcome you at the airport and take you to the hotel where we will meet to talk about the trip in details. We will discuss any questions you may have in the meeting. The arrival day is your free and relaxing day. There is no activity planned to do except the meeting at the hotel.
Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal, is a vibrant blend of ancient culture, history, and modernity. Nestled in the Kathmandu Valley, surrounded by the Himalayan mountains, it offers a unique experience for travelers.
Take a scenic flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara. The flight takes off from Tribhuwan International Airport, the domestic terminal, and heads westward. It’s a 25-minute flight that lands you in the tranquil city of Pokhara. After Lunch, Explore Pokhara Overnight in Pokhara.
After breakfast at Hotel, we start our journey to Mustang. First we drive west to the town of Beni with the black top road and then follow the Kali Gandaki River. The road after Beni is off-road. The Kali Gandaki valley is the world’s deepest gorge, between Dhaulagiri (8,167 m) and Annapurna I (8,091 m) Himalaya. Tatopani is a small town where you can experience the natural hot spearing and local activities.
Driving hours: 6/7 hours by 4WD Jeep - 110 KM approx.
After breakfast you will drive through local villages of Kalopani, Ghasa and explore the apple farming of Marpha Village and Jomsom local market. Then you will cross Kagbeni village and visit holy temple complex of Muktinath and 108 taps dedicated to lord Vishnun. Also you will visit Jal Devi where you can see the fire lighting itself (Natural gas), the local town of Muktinath, Buddhist monastery in Jharkot with incredible views of Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri and Tukuche Peak and and drive to Kagbeni for overnight stay.
Driving hours: 5/6 hours by 4WD Jeep - 95 KM approx.
During the morning after breakfast you will visit Kagbeni Monastery and Buddhist School. Before living Kagbeni your guide will check in your special Upper Msutang permit and start your journey to Upper Mustang. At the first you will cross Kaligandaki river near Chhusang village by Jeep and climb up to Chella Village, Samar Village, Syangboche village, Bhina, Ghiling and arrive at Ghami village. Today you will have amazing landscape during the day from Syngboche and other places. This is your private trip so you can stop your Jeep anywhere and enjoy with the pictures. Also you will see the local farmer houses with Yak and houses caravan, Tibetan culture and local activities during the day.

Today you will visit monastery of Mustang Lo Gager Ghar Gompa which is very important monastery in Mustang, Vist Charang monastery, visit Lo-mangthang city, "Jampa Gompa" the oldest monastery , built in the early 15th century and also known as the "God house", "Thubchen Gompa" a huge, red assembly hall and gompa built in the late 15th century, "Chodey Gompa", now the main city gompa and Monastic Museum. Also you will observe domestic Yaks and cattle caravans, Wonder mountain views and landscape from the passes, Buddhist school, arts, king palace and local activities in Lo-manthang.
Driving hours: 3 hours by 4WD Jeep - 17 KM approx.
Today after breakfast you will explore Namgyal gompa, sky caves of Chhoser and the SHIJA JHONG cave of Mustang dating back to over 3,000 years have been subject of excavation for archaeologists from around the world. There are other several caves near Chhoser have been used for burial, meditation and also for living. Also till now SKY BURIAL is used in Upper Mustang which is in Chhoser and nearby villages. After finished the sightseeing of local areas you will drive back to guesthouse by jeep.
Today you will drive all the way to Jomsom Crossing several local village, Kaligandaki river, Buddhist stupas and monasteries on the way. Evening you will have time to explore local market of Jomsom.

After breakfast at lodge you will drive to pokhara. Today you can re-explore Rupse waterfall, the world highest Bunjee spot in Kushma and other actitvities.

We take a flight to Kathmandu. After a hearty breakfast at Pokhara, our flight will head eastward, parallel to the Himalayan vista.
It’s a 25-minute scenic flight before you land at Kathmandu airport. We will privately transfer to the hotel from the airport, which will be leisure time for the rest of the day in Kathmandu.
After Breakfast, We will send you to TIA.
